I l progetto europeo ATHENA (Access to cultural heritage networks across Europe), coordinato dall’Istituto centrale per il catalogo unico delle biblioteche (ICCU), è una “rete di buone pratiche” finanziata dal programma eContentplus, sviluppato a seguito dei risultati del progetto MINERVA.Ne fanno parte membri di venti stati dell’Unione Europea e tre osservatori extraeuropei, 109 musei di grande rilievo e altre istituzioni culturali sono direttamente associati al progetto fin dal suo inizio.
