Dai servizi digitali alla terza missione. L'evoluzione dei servizi bibliografici digitali all'Università degli Studi di Torino e la nascita del Polo bibliografico della ricerca
The bibliographic Hub of Research of the University of Turin was born after a number of libraries belonging to different research institutions of Turin decided to be part of the National Library Service (SBN) UTO hub and take advantage of the technological facilities the University of Turin could provide. The bibliographic Hub of Research is a project that plays a leading role within the Third mission activities of the University of Turin’s Library System. As a consequence of this initiative, the University of Turin could offer the territory both its own technological infrastructure and library support and was able to build a proactive cooperation with different public and private cultural actors and with local and regional public administrations. The article outlines the steps that led to the creation of the National Library System “UTO” Hub and, subsequently, its evolution into the Bibliographic Hub of Research. It represents both a technical platform and a ground for realizing Third mission activities. This hub can be seen as a starting point for planning wider and more complex collaboration projects in the future such as extending the live chat reference service to those libraries which operate outside the University of Turin and create an integrated Service charter for the whole Bibliographic Hub of Research.
