The implementation of IIIF standards in the digital ecosystem of the Vatican Apostolic Library starts in 2015 with the experimentation of a pilot project followed by the setting up of the digital library (DVL), based on the adoption of standards for metadata and protocols that allow the digital collections to be interoperable. The ecosystem subsequently increases with open source software for the management of virtual exhibits (Thematic Pathways on the Web) in which selections of annotated manuscripts, according to the IIIF technique, offer to scholars thematic research pathways.Downloads
