This article presents the MemoBo Project, conducted by the University of Bologna, the Archivio di Stato of Bologna and regesta.exe, aimed at the analysis of a conspicuous medieval serial source, the Memoriali of the Commune of Bologna (1265-1452). Starting from the analytical database indexing and by using digital tools, the Project aims to offer a series of keys for access to the source and management of a large amount of information and data of different nature, making available and investigable an example of “big data” of the municipal age.
