The word “reuse” is in itself a “re-use” in the IT field. In fact, it is taken up by previous experiences, and in particular by both ecological movements (reuse, protection, and environmental sustainability) and postmodern philosophical enquiry (consider the thought of Jacques Derrida and the concept of “dissemination”). The Open Access Movement has actualised the concept of “reuse” as a flow, and as FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) behaviour. Reuse is therefore one of the founding values of contemporaneity. Care must always be taken to protect its meaning in order not to confuse it with purely mannered expressions hidden in obscure acronyms.
