"Mappatura generale di archivi, risorse e strumenti per la ricerca genealogica in rete": a New Tool for Genealogy in the XXI Century

The paper aims to provide the reader with a brief presentation of General Mapping of Archives, Resources and Tools for Online Genealogy Research: a tool to support genealogical research published online (2023) on the website of the State Archives of Modena, freely available and easy to use. After some essential reflections on the nature of genealogical science and its development in the current national context, the Author expresses the reasons that led to the birth of the project and the objectives that Mapping aims to be able to achieve, even if only partially. The reception and the process of dissemination that has resulted from it are examined, and finally, the possible future developments that will affect, in a more or less long time, the evolution of the project and its continuous updating are presented.
