Unpublished drawings by Luigi Pirandello in the RomaTreDiscovery digital collections

Authors

This article examines the project dedicated to the study digitisation, and enhancement of previously unknown sketches and drawings by Luigi Pirandello, found in the examination registers of the Regio Istituto Superiore di Magistero Femminile (Royal Higher Institute of Female Teacher Training), now preserved at the Humanities Library of Roma Tre University. The study outlines the strategies adopted to integrate heterogeneous archival materials into the RomaTreDiscovery Digital Collections and details the descriptive choices and record modelling implemented in the Alma–Digital system. The creation of the digital collection “The Drawings of Prof. Luigi Pirandello”, released through a phased access strategy, provides an insightful case study to reflect on the role of academic libraries as knowledge infrastructures. It highlights their capacity to mediate, organise, and transform hybrid documentary resources into assets of significant value for research, teaching, and cultural dissemination.
