Accessibility in catalogues: the Alphabetica experience

In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of accessibility. This is evident from the growing awareness of the issue within the education sector and children’s literature, where new specialist publishers and dedicated series are emerging. However, it is also important that catalogues strive to include the necessary bibliographic information to help users find the information they need. In the absence of standards, Alphabetica has developed algorithms that extract information from historical data. It is expected that this information will be provided during the cataloguing process in future.
