This essay presents an overview of the archival heritage of the Historical Archive of the Presidency of the Republic and of the main changes introduced by the digital transition for the purposes of knowledge, use and enhancement of the memories of the Presidents of the Republic; for the purposes of the realization of a digital history (and/or public digital history) of the Presidents of the Republic; for the purposes, finally, of communicating issues related to data interoperability. The document is divided into three parts: the first relates to description about the Archives of the Quirinale and its archival heritage; the second is dedicated to describe the identity and role of the Archival of the Presidency of the Republic and to comment the related conceptual model and properties; finally, the third is dedicated to Historical Portal of the Presidency of the Republic and contain some remarks on the formal translation of the conceptual model into an ontology of the Presidency of the Republic according to the OWL language and on Linked Open data and related dataset.
