Abstract

Nel 1999 la Direzione generale per i beni librari e gli istituti  culturali del MiBAC commissionava uno Studio di fattibilità  per  la  biblioteca digitale, come quadro di riferimento alla formulazione di un progetto nazionale che consentisse  al nostro paese di  inserirsi  in  un contesto di iniziative analoghe  internazionali.  Lo  studio e la riflessione organica seguita con la  III  Conferenza nazionale delle biblioteche del 2001 1,  evidenziarono  la  carenza  di  un  coordinamento delle iniziative e di standard comuni di riferimento. In questi anni vengono poste le basi e definite le tappe successive in termini organizzativi e progettuali.
