Abstract

Over the last decade there have been more and more initiatives linked to the enhancement of cultural heritage through virtual reality. In the Italian context, whose cultural heritage is an expression of a set of relationships with the environment of origin, those projects, that exploit the potential of this tool for the reconstruction of lost or compromised artistic contexts, bear a particular value an immense value. Through some targeted examples, linked to the academic, museum and third sector dimension, various points of reflection are proposed on the different application methods of virtual reconstructions and on the advantages associated with a correct use of virtual tours in cultural sites.
