The New Italian National Bibliography

This paper illustrates the features of the new technological environment for accessing the Italian National Bibliography (BNI), which was released online in early 2026. It attempts to place the BNI within the broader context of national bibliographic services. In particular, it explores the cataloging and management reasons that led the National Central Library of Florence to adopt this solution.
