Abstract

Della Mediateca Santa Teresa si è parlato fin dai primi anni Novanta all’interno dei grandi interventi dell’area lombarda e nel corso del tempo si è andata via via chiarendo la sua qualificazione come biblioteca multimediale, “sezione senza libri” della Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense. Inaugurata il 13 giugno del 2003, è la prima e più importante realizzazione del Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali (Mibac) nel settore multimediale 1 . Per questa iniziativa il Mibac (grazie alla quota di introiti derivanti dal Gioco del Lotto, l. 662/1996), in  collaborazione con la Regione Lombardia, con il sostegno della Fondazione Cariplo e della Banca Popolare di Milano ha provveduto a restaurare e ad adattare gli ambienti della settecentesca chiesa dei Santi Giuseppe e Teresa, collocata in posizione centrale in città.
