Sviluppi internazionali dei linked open data (LOD) nelle biblioteche: sfide ed opportunità

Abstract

Le biblioteche sono spinte dalla tecnologia Linked Open Data (LOD) a struttu-
rare il mondo bibliografico che le caratterizza in quello che è il Web dei dati.
Questa spinta ad adottare i LOD rappresenta per le biblioteche una sfida che
non è solo tecnologica: le biblioteche stanno sperimentando nel Web dei dati
attività insolite come la connessione (il collegamento tra dati), la condivisione
(la convergenza dei dati di diverse istituzioni), la partecipazione (nuove par-
tnership con gli utenti) per nuovi servizi. Le promesse di miglioramento di servizio agli utenti devono tuttavia essere ancora valutate. Occorre fare ricerca
sull'impatto dei LOD sul miglioramento del servizio agli utenti e sulle conse-
guenze per le procedure interne delle biblioteche.
