Abstract

In a global context marked by unprecedented challenges, such as the climate crisis, there arises an urgent need to rethink the objectives and methods of higher education. In this reflection, we must recognize the dimensions that digital technologies have progressively allowed us to integrate into the learning process, from the multimedia and hypertextuality of content to the more recent possibilities of process personalization.
Central to this landscape is a resurgence of active learning methodologies, with particular emphasis on Networked Learning. This pedagogical approach emphasizes connectivity and collaboration, viewing knowledge as a distributed system where learning occurs through both social and digital interactions. It underscores the importance of networks in facilitating access to resources and promoting collaboration among students. Concurrently, the introduction of artificial intelligence in the educational landscape prompts a deeper philosophical and critical reflection on our relationship with knowledge and interaction with communicative artifacts. In this scenario, Open Education stands out as a fundamental policy orientation, not only ensuring open and free access to educational resources but  also guaranteeing the sustainability of innovation processes, making education more equitable, inclusive, and responsive to the complexities of the contemporary world.
