Un approccio cooperativo per la gestione dei diritti nelle biblioteche digitali: il progetto ARROW

Fin dal lancio dell’iniziativa i2010: Digital Library è stato messo in evidenza come un elemento critico sia l’inclusione nei programmi di digitalizzazione di opere protette dal diritto d’autore. Senza il consenso degli aventi diritto, solo i contenuti di pubblico dominio possono essere compresi in una biblioteca digitale, con una logica conseguenza:
«Nel caso della letteratura […] sono disponibili senza restrizioni connesse ai diritti d’autore solo le opere del primo ‘900 o precedenti, a seconda dell’anno di morte dell’autore».
